About Me

My name is Benjamin Chiles. I’m a writer, a teacher, an academic, an aspiring voice actor, a video-game enthusiast, and all-around nerd.

I’ve been writing for most of my life, in one form or another. It provided a much-needed outlet for self-expression when I was young, and now that I’m older, it is a way to express and describe the vivid worlds that exist in my imagination.

About the Blog

Story Multiverse is a blog focusing on “imaginative fiction” (or IF) which includes fantasy, science fiction, horror, supernatural fiction, and other related pieces of literature.

Generally speaking, you’ll find three types of posts here: posts about writing IF, posts about reading IF, and posts about IF as a genre.

Posts about writing IF

This includes posts where I talk about the process of writing, writing techniques, my own writing experiences, as well as entries in an original IF series The Chain.

Posts about reading IF

These posts are usually either reviews of specific pieces of IF or profiles of IF creators.

Posts about IF as a genre

The most “meta” of the three, these are the posts where I pose questions such as “What is IF?” and “What makes IF different or unique?”

Credit for the beautiful image (titled “Frozen Road”) serving as my header goes to my father, Jim, who has his own blog focusing on technological disasters.

  1. Hello, and please allow me to say welcome to WordPress. :)
I just stumbled upon your blog, and I think it looks promising. I like how you use parantheses for effect and humour; it gives your blog a unique style.
